The Programme

Requirements

You need to be

• away from home for 5 days and 4 nights
• with people you don't know or don't know well and
• there needs to be a purpose for the event

The following is a list of suggestions for Residential Projects.  Some of them have links through to the website associated with that group. 

• Blue Mountain Lodge
  
• Youth Camps - also contact groups (eg  Asthma Society, CanTeen, CCS, MS) who often have week long events where they need extra helpers
  
• Children's Holiday camps - eg YMCA camps, church based camps
  
• Defence Force Units - ATC's, Training Ships, Cadets - have a variety of courses that fufill this requirement
  
• Department of Conservation Volunteer Activities
  
• GirlGuiding New Zealand Jamborees and Discoveries - extra adult volunteers are also required.  Contact your local Guides New Zealand
  
• Global Youth Foundation Discovery Course
  
• Lions International Youth Camp - contact your local Lions group
  
• Lucca Leadership - an overseas opportunity
  
• Outward Bound
  
• Rotary Youth Leadership Award - contact your local Rotary Club about this
  
• Scouting New Zealand - Jamboree, Aviation School, Canoe School, Caving School, Photography School
  
• Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre
  
• Spirit of New Zealand
  
• Summer Camp USA
  
• TS Sarah Jane
  
• University hosted theme weeks eg:
•  Hands on Science
• Genesis Science and Technology Forum
• NZ Business Week
• YES - Youth Environment for Sustainability
  
• WWOOFing - Willing Workers on Organic Farms
